6 Days Kenya Camping Safari

Tour Overview

Gone are the days we used to pitch dome tents and take days without having a bath in the wild on a Kenya camping safari. In this times, all parks have semi permanent camps located at the border of the parks that offer simple and well priced accommodation, the comfort of a bed and bed linen, a hot water shower and flush toilet in the tent that has a permanent roof.

The tent is comfortable and clean with no frills or luxury but good enough for those willing to do away with extra comforts but want to see the best of Kenyan wildlife at a reasonable price!

Kenya Camping Safari 3
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Pick up at your hotel in Nairobi and head to Rift Valley view point for a short stop. Drive on to Narok town where you stock up on snacks, bottled drinking water, soft or alcoholic beverages of your choice. Drive on to Masai Mara arriving for lunch at the Mara Sidai Budget Camp. Though the camp bears a dodgy history, of late the new managers have restored the clean and comfortable environment that clients are accustomed to so this camp will not disappoint. After unpacking and a short rest, head out to the park for an afternoon game drive till sunset. Dinner and overnight will be at the Mara Sidai Camp.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara

Have breakfast before 7.00 AM then head out with a simple yet filling packed lunch into the park for a full day game drive. The camp is located at the Olomutiek gate of the Masai Mara but there is no boundary between the park and the camp therefore wildlife can roam about anywhere. You shall have a morning game drive until noon. Head out to the Mara River where you camp by acacia tree deep in the wild to have your picnic lunch. After a short rest proceed to the river to view crocodiles and hippos. Continue on an afternoon game drive till 4.30 PM when you head back to the camp to freshen up before Dinner and Overnight.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park to Amboseli

You will be able to spot hyenas, lions, and leopards, white and black rhinos, and lots of birdlife amongst other animals in the park.
